Manipuri (Meitei) (ꯃꯩꯇꯩꯂꯣꯟ) is not available yet: no reviewed translation exists, so this site is shown in English. We will add it with a Manipuri (Meitei) reviewer rather than publish text we cannot check.

Editorial policy

Evidence labels

Every claim is labelled: primary source, secondary source, official statistic, interpretation, normative claim, unverified or synthetic. Interpretations and normative claims are labelled as such, never presented as findings (§64, §73).

Review before publication

Nine stages, each with a stop condition: proposal, draft, evidence review, rights review, accessibility review, technical review, approval, publication and monitoring (§184). Law, statistics, translation, personal data, maps and community material automatically add a specialist reviewer (§173).

Publication states

Content is current, provisional (with an expiry date), corrected, superseded, withdrawn, archived, or a synthetic demonstration — and the page always says which (§80). Provisional content never silently stays up past its expiry.

Corrections and replies

We never correct silently. Upheld corrections carry a notice on the page and an entry in the public log. People and communities we write about have a right of reply.

Style

  • Plain language, short sentences, defined terms (§93).
  • Indian number grouping (12,34,567) and day-month-year dates (§175).
  • Official place names with recorded spelling variants; non-stigmatising terms; no “best”, “worst”, “backward” or ranking language about places.
  • Hindi and Maithili translations carry a “review pending” label until a reviewer has checked them; if a translation and the English differ, the English text prevails. Nothing is machine-translated on the fly (§96).
