Public browsing
Reading anything on this site requires no identification and no account (§102). We set no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The only cookies are essential ones described in the cookie policy, including the display preferences you choose yourself.
Data we collect
If you submit a correction or use the contact form (when it is open), we collect only what you give us. Your name and email are optional on the correction form. Identity details are encrypted, and are deleted 90 days after your request is resolved. Please do not send sensitive personal information (§108).
Server logs
Server logs contain IP addresses and browser details. We treat these as personal data, keep access logs for 30 days, and do not share them with third parties (§114).
No profiling
We do not build user profiles, do not infer caste, religion, politics, health or vulnerability from your browsing, and do not sell any data (§150).
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete personal data we hold about you. Use the corrections page. We do not promise rights the law does not grant (§117). Deleted data leaves our backups on their normal rotation schedule (§209).
Children
The Young Voice programme may involve minors. We ask for an age band, never a date of birth; we need verifiable guardian consent before anything is published; and we never publish a minor’s full name, school and location together (§107).
